Wer-ich-sein
Aeugst am Albis, the quaint little village in the Säuliamt seems very far away from the hustle and bustle and craziness of the big world metropoles.
How would the inhabitants of such a place react to the questions arising when being confronted with such unexpected encounters?
Preliminary sketch of an eye bullet in the landscape: The eyeball disconnected from an owner’s body is the symbol of consciousness itself. Watching the world happen or being watched.
The Sonder Institute has arrived in Aeugst! more than 200 Sculptures have been placed in the landscape for people to discover on their walks.
Who is this strange wolf woman that walked by the bus stop yesterday evening?
We now offer consciousness walking tours!
Let the Sonder Institute ambassador inspire you to JUMP into a magical wonderland where the past and the future disappear to make space for what’s possible with play.
This is a completely NEW way of experiencing art and psychology!

Miles Pittman the Sonder Institute ambassador and tour guide.
The first Sonder-Tour.
Comment of previous tour member: It was such a pleasure to be among you yesterday. Thanks for the stroll around Aeugst and the look at the lovely ceramic objects that were positioned with accuracy. And you Miles, the Sonder Institute ambassador, did a great job leading us the way. Aside from interaction, it was so great to indulge in the present and not think about anything gone or going to happen. For me it seems a kind of beautiful and kind therapy.

Come and visit the KommBox in Aeugst and get to walk through a colorful and fun overview of the project. In this way you can experience Sonder and find how it relates to your own life. You’ll be amazed to find what is possible! Suddenly windows and doors open up where you thought there weren’t any!!
Each object in the universe has an aliveness, and when Sonder brings you to that realization what happens in that moment of impact?
Are you judgmental or curious? Whichever, the strangeness of the object interrupting your normal pattern reflects your inner landscape.
What does it look like when you have indoctrinated the Philosophy of Freedom and your inner life tears open a new reality?
You’ve finally found the freedom to see, freedom to be self-expressed, freedom to be in pure observation.
Some objects seem to challenge us to specific behavior.
When masks cover someone’s face the observer is confronted with symbolic meaning. What that meaning is, reflects a developing narrative that lay latent within the observer.
Consciousness is abound.
And some seem so self absorbed that they don’t see anything.
Have you met the singing Blemmye who offers voice lessons to everyone willing to give it a try? It seems without a judgmental head singing can be done with more joy and ease. This creature floats around the village and interrupts passerby’s normal societal patterns and invites them to express themselves with breath and voice.
A spiritual security system? Or a reminder that someone or something is always watching…
”When I am laid in earth may my wrongs create no trouble, no trouble in thy breast.”
A magic mountain mystifies hikers on the trail along the Türlersee the lake in Aeugst am Albis
Sonder meets sonderbar. On the Sonder tour we encourage participants to wear something that gets them out of their normal societal self. This guest did just that.
In the realm of spirit what’s possible in the coolness of a shallow creek bed?.
Where imagination, nature and object intersect.
The moment one stands on seemingly solid ground (concrete pictured here) and nature invites you to jump.
When you hold your breath the body stops momentarily, but when it’s released a new possibility could be realized.
With the sun beaming through, and with subtle guidance, what emotional state would you find yourself in whilst confronted with magic?
But if you are still hesitating, come and have an enrollment conversation with one of our Sonder Institute ambassadors in the center of Aeugst in front of the Volg. He will surely convince you to take the JUMP, especially after introducing you to Elsa.
A Sonder Institute ambassador and Elsa.
Elsa has spent her whole life waiting for the perfect moment to act, to jump into life. Look what this hesitation has done to her over the years!
